Adapting to Diverse Science Culture for Development

Science, ever since its beginning, has provided us boundless possibilities for our benefit. For long it has served us and improved our way of life. With science, everything was being questioned. Everyone began exploring everything that can be perceived. Those once fascinations and mysteries that left us in awe were slowly being dumped in by new knowledge that is more reasonable. Slowly, our view of the world was changing.
Since its birth, science has become a basis for understanding, and it has proved to be useful in our daily life. Discovery after discovery, breakthrough after breakthrough, each has contributed in our unending attempt to rid of all those questions that boggled our minds. And with science, we were able to take a giant leap forward, and began inventing gadgets and machines, propagate crops, study diseases, discover elements, etc. Everything made for our benefit. Technological age dawned upon us. But in the midst of all those triumphs, there was a dark side. Technology, or rather science in the broader context, not only created possibilities for us, but also problems.
Waste products, pollutants, and other end results were increasing at an accelerating rate. Management of these wastes were taken for granted, and it was too late when man began to show concern for these problems. It was all around us, and it has contaminated our surroundings. Our planet began to change. And it was us, humans, that started the spark for this change. Example of this is our planet, that is slowly heating up. We refer to this now as global warming. Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) emissions that are waste products produced by industrial plants, machineries, and appliances are rapidly building up in the atmosphere Accelerating the depletion of ozone in the Earth's atmosphere. As our ozone is depleting, the sun radiates more heat and this heat energy cannot bounce back to space because of the compounds that contaminate our atmosphere now acts as a blanket. And now, Earth is reacting to this and this sudden change in weather patterns around the world is the result of our interfering with the natural flow. We are dragging everything into the abyss, not only us humans, but also all animal and plant life. This is only one of the problems we created. They say that man is going to fall under his own demise. Are we just going to let that happen?
Technology and Science is only a tool for us, and it is not the cause of our problems. It is us, humans, that should think on how to effectively and efficiently use our resources and knowledge to create a different way, not to tread on the same way like what we have done for all these years. We must think of different options and adapt to this world that we created, not to destroy it further, but to restore what has been lost due to our irresponsible and selfish ways. We created a culture that proved efficient, and also destructive. What we can do now is to correct those mistakes that we've made. Begin to think of a different approach to science. The knowledge is there, and there are endless possibilities. We just have to take the responsibility and carve that path that lead us there.

Filipino Dialect:From Baler To The Entire Philippines

Luzon,Visayas and Mindanao. For all Filipinos, be proud!!But what is the significance in being a Filipino ?What is the use of our dialects?
I know, you know and we all know that we have lots of dialects in our country. In the northern part,we have Ilocano for the province of Ilocos Sur where I belong. We also have Ilonggo,Bicolano,Cebuano and many more.In Baler, from this topic represents no other than our "father of national language",President Manuel L. Quezon. He urged for a change in the country. He asked for one common language to penetrate deep into each one of us,from all regions of the Philipines. He believe that having one common language that everybody spoke of is the one thing we need to truly be at par and to realize our one common goal-to unite our country.
So if I were you,I will never say goodbye to my own dialect and never say die to our language.Instead,be proud and use to love because that is what a Filipino mean!!
